About this programme

Entrepreneurship and business-management training culminating in a pitch competition for a ₦100M funding pool.

The DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program (DETP) is a flagship initiative of the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN), implemented in partnership with the Enugu State Sovernment through the Enugu SME Center. The progran is designed to strengthen the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through structured business training, mentorship, and funding opportunities.

Delivered in two phases, the program begins with a self-paced online training module hosted on the DBN Learning Management System (LMS), where participants complete 11 courses, including 4 mandatory core subjects. Top-performing MSMEs who complete the training are invited to attend a regional in-person workshop for further business support, mentorship, and a pitch competition.

The program culminates in a competitive pitch session, where selected businesses stand a chance to win grant funding of up to N5 million, drawn from DBN's N100 million rant pool. The 2025 edition of DETP targets MSMEs in Enugl and Abia States, with the second cohort concluding its online phase by October 31, 2025, and the workshop and pitch competition scheduled for November 10-14, 2025.

The program supports MSMEs in becoming investor-ready, scalable, and more resilient, aligning with broader state and national economic development goals.
