About this programme

The SUPA-ITF Enugu Artisan Skills Accelerator is a free skills development programme by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and Enugu MSME & Startup Agency that will train 700 existing and aspiring artisans in building construction, fashion, ICT, automotive, and hospitality, creating pathways to employment, apprenticeship, self-employment, and enterprise growth.

Through a competitive selection process, 700 beneficiaries will be enrolled in hands-on vocational training delivered by accredited training centres and industry partners across Enugu State. The programme is designed to strengthen technical competence, improve productivity, and prepare participants for opportunities within the skilled workforce and enterprise ecosystem.

Beyond training, beneficiaries will gain access to a platform that supports long-term career and business advancement, while contributing to the growth of a highly skilled artisan workforce across the state.

1. What is the SUPA-ITF Enugu Artisan Skills Accelerator?

The SUPA-ITF Enugu Artisan Skills Accelerator is an initiative of the Enugu State Government through the Enugu MSME & Startup Agency, in partnership with the Industrial Training Fund (ITF). The programme is designed to equip Ndi Enugu with practical, market-relevant technical and vocational skills that can improve their employability, productivity, earning potential and enterprise opportunities.

2. Who can apply?

The programme is open to: • Existing artisans who want to upgrade their skills; • Early-stage artisans who have some experience and want further training; and • New entrants who are genuinely interested in learning a trade and building a career in that field. Applicants must live in or operate within Enugu State.

3. How many people will be selected?

Following a competitive screening and assessment process, 700 applicants will be selected to participate in the programme.

4. Is the programme free?

Yes. The training is completely FREE for selected participants. Successful applicants will not be required to pay tuition or training fees.

5. What skills are available?

6. Do I need previous experience to apply?

No. You may apply whether you are already practising a trade, have some basic experience, or are completely new but genuinely interested in learning the selected skill. Applicants will be assessed according to their respective experience levels.

7. How do I apply?

Applications must be submitted online through: www.enugusme.en.gov.ng/supa-itf Complete the application form carefully and ensure that the phone number you provide is active.

8. Do I need to apply directly on the ITF SUPA website?

For the SUPA-ITF Enugu Artisan Skills Accelerator, applicants should first apply through the Enugu State application portal: www.enugusme.en.gov.ng/supa-itf Candidates who are selected will receive further instructions regarding any additional ITF/SUPA registration or onboarding requirements.

9. How will candidates be selected?

Selection will be competitive and merit-based. Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted candidates may be invited for further screening, verification, interviews and/or practical assessments depending on the selected trade. Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee selection.

10. Will experienced artisans have an advantage over beginners?

Applicants will be assessed based on the category they fall into. Existing artisans may be assessed based on their practical experience and skill level, while newcomers may be assessed more on their aptitude, interest, commitment and potential to successfully build a career in the selected trade.

11. How long will the programme run?

The training programme is expected to run for approximately three and a half (3½) months. Selected participants will receive further information regarding training schedules and attendance requirements.

12. Where will the training take place?

Training will be delivered through specialised facilities and approved training partners, including: • COPEN Academy – Building & Construction; • Enugu Fashion & Garment Hub – Fashion/garment-related skills; • Enugu Digital Skills Enhancement Zone (D-SEZ) – ICT; and • selected automotive and hospitality training centres. Successful applicants will be informed of their designated training centres.

13. Who will conduct the training?

Training will be delivered by qualified Master Trainers and technical instructors under the ITF SUPA framework and through approved training facilities.

14. Will participants receive certificates?

Yes. Participants who successfully complete the required training and meet the applicable programme requirements will receive certification through the ITF/SUPA framework

15. Can I apply for more than one trade?

Applicants should select the one primary trade they are most interested in pursuing. Choose carefully, as training placements will be based on the trade selected during the application and assessment process.

16. What information do I need to apply?

The application is deliberately simple. You will generally be required to provide: • Basic personal information; • Phone/WhatsApp contact; • LGA and community; • Preferred sector and trade; • Current level of experience; • Brief reason for applying; and • Confirmation of your availability and commitment to the programme. Additional documentation may only be requested from shortlisted applicants.

17. Will I be required to pay anyone to secure a slot?

No. Application and participation are FREE. Do not pay any individual, agent or organisation claiming they can guarantee your selection. Selection will be based on the official screening and assessment process.

18. What happens after I submit my application?

You will receive confirmation that your application has been submitted. Applications will then be reviewed, and shortlisted applicants will be contacted through the phone number, SMS, WhatsApp and/or email address provided during registration. Please ensure your contact information is correct and keep your phone active.

19. What happens if I am shortlisted?

Shortlisted applicants may be invited for: • Verification; • Interview; • Aptitude assessment; • Practical assessment; and/or • Additional documentation. Successful candidates will subsequently receive onboarding and training instructions.

20. Will every applicant be selected?

No. The programme has 700 available places, and applications will undergo a competitive screening and assessment process. Applicants are therefore encouraged to complete their applications accurately and demonstrate genuine interest and commitment.

21. Can women apply?

Absolutely. Eligible women and men across Enugu State are encouraged to apply across all available trades.

22. Can persons who are currently employed or running a business apply?

Yes. Existing artisans, employees, freelancers and business owners who want to improve their technical skills may apply, provided they can commit to the programme if selected.

23. Will there be financial grants or equipment after training?

The current programme is primarily focused on technical training, skills upgrading and certification. Any additional post-training opportunities, enterprise support or interventions will be communicated officially where available.

24. Will participants receive transportation or logistics support?

Any approved beneficiary logistics arrangements will be communicated directly to selected participants during onboarding. Applicants should rely only on information issued through official programme channels.

25. What is expected of me if I am selected?

Selected participants will be expected to: • Attend training consistently; • Participate actively in practical sessions; • Comply with programme and training-centre requirements; • Complete required assessments; and • Commit to completing the full programme. Failure to meet attendance or participation requirements may affect continued participation.

27. What happens if I am selected but fail to take the training seriously or complete the programme?

Participation in the programme is completely FREE, but every training slot represents a significant investment by the Enugu State Government and ITF. Selected participants will therefore be required to commit fully to the programme. Any participant who, without a valid reason, repeatedly fails to attend, abandons the training or fails to meet the required participation standards may be required to repay applicable programme costs incurred on their behalf.
