The “Transforming Nigerian Youths Program (TNYP-Enugu” or the “Program”) is a partnership between Enterprise Development Center- Pan African University (“EDC-PAU”) and MasterCard Foundation. It aims to boost entrepreneurial skills among Enugu’s youth, especially those aged 18-35, with a focus on women-led microenterprises. The program offers a blend of in-person and online training, including lessons in English, Igbo, and Pidgin through an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system. The curriculum provides a comprehensive mix of theory and practical knowledge.

Successful participants can access additional resources and support, in line with His Excellency, Dr. Peter Mbah’s vision to empower the youth with vital skills.

The program targets Women-Led Microentrepreneurs, especially those between the ages of 18 – 35 years, from specific locations like Aninri, Nkanu East, and Enugu North Local Government for the Pilot of the Program before expanding to other LGAs.

The training is a three (3) day Hybrid Training Program. The first and last days are in-person, led by a SMEDAN Certified Business Development Service Provider (BDSP) with support from a Program Manager provided by the Enugu SME Center. The “second day” is online, self-paced, using the EDC-PAU online learning platform and an IVR system. Lessons are available in English, Pidgin, and Igbo

While the program offers training through an online platform, which requires internet access, participants can also engage with lessons via the IVR system, suitable for those with limited internet access.

Data will be provided to successful participants of the pilot program.

The two (2) day Physical Session would be from 9am- 2pm with lunch provided for the cohorts

The Program is free for the selected beneficiaries

▪ Top learners will have the chance to access Business Development Services for four (4) months, market opportunities, personalized support, and information on finance.
▪ After which, the growth plan is reviewed, and the learner has an opportunity to move to the second phase of the program, which is Access to Market – an avenue to showcase products and services at an exhibition for visibility.
▪ Also, gain one-on-one business support with a certified business development service provider (BDSP). Access to information and personalized services for business.

The pilot phase of the Program is specifically designed for participants from these locations. If you’re not from these areas, please apply as the full rollout of the Program across all the seventeen (17) LGAs will commence after the pilot phase.

Yes, even if your business isn’t formally registered, you can apply. The program recognizes the unique challenges faced by micropreneur and aims to support them.

Selection for Phase 2 will be based on engagement, performance during the initial training, and alignment with the program’s objectives.

Yes, participants who successfully complete the program will receive a certificate of completion

▪ Yes, successful participants will be integrated into an alumni network where they can access further resources, networking opportunities, and potential collaboration.
▪ Successful cohorts that are matched with SMEDAN Certified BDSPs can also access financing from their business from FCMB Plc or Sterling Bank Plc with loan
documentation support from Enugu SME Center.
▪ The mentorship cycle provides participants with free business registration, a website, logo design, certifications like NAFDAC for businesses that may require them, and many more opportunities.

Absolutely! We encourage those who aren’t selected to apply for future iterations of the program.
